Where can heat exchangers be used on ships? Thousands of miles of embankment, collapsed in the ant den. Every system in a ship is interconnected in some way. For ships that need to sail for a long time at sea, a small equipment failure may cause a series of fatal problems that seriously threaten the safety of the ship and crew . The heat exchanger plays an important role in the efficient work of different systems on board.
As the main equipment such as oil cooler, fresh water cooler, central cooler, diesel engine cooler, cylinder liner water cooler on ships, heat exchange equipment is widely used in oil tankers, liquefied gas carriers, container ships, bulk carriers And engineering ships, play an important role in the ship's navigation. The highly corrosive and easily scaled seawater operating conditions test the corrosion resistance and high efficiency of the heat exchange equipment, and the long-term continuous operation tests the safety and stability of the heat exchange equipment.
1. Propulsion device. The main propulsion device is composed of main operating subsystems such as lubricating oil system, jacket water system (open or closed system), fuel oil system and so on. When generating energy, all these systems are heated and the temperature is controlled by using heat exchangers in the system. The heat exchangers commonly used in the main propulsion system are-shell and tube heat exchangers and plate heat exchangers.
2. Auxiliary power generation system. The auxiliary power generation system is similar to the main propulsion system, except that the output is generated when the energy is generated. Shell and tube heat exchangers, plate and plate fin heat exchangers are commonly used.
3. Fresh water system.
In order to produce fresh water, seawater condensers and jacketed evaporators are used, both of which are heat exchanger types, usually shell and tube heat exchangers and plate heat exchangers.
4. Refrigeration system.
In the refrigeration system, in the meat room, fish room and vegetable room, the evaporator is used as a phase change heat exchanger. Shell and tube heat exchangers are used in condenser units in refrigeration systems.
5. Fuel injection system.
For proper atomization, the fuel is heated in the heater using steam as a heat carrier. Mainly use the shell and tube heat exchanger to achieve. To reduce sulfur oxide emissions from propulsion units, combustible fuels are mixed with water spray so that they can directly contact the heat exchanger.
6. Steam turbine unit. If the ship is composed of a steam turbine unit or a turbine generator, a spiral heat exchanger is usually used for heat transfer.
In addition to the above, there are several other applications. The heat exchanger is undoubtedly a very critical factor to ensure the normal use of the turbine and make the ship sail smoothly.
